Reunion 2003 is as follows, Thursday evening we had an open bar compliments of the hotel where 22 guys were in attendance.

Friday morning Breakfast was attended by 34 guys and wives. Photos, videotapes and memorabilia were looked at and small groups formed for general BS. Music of the ‘60’s  & ‘70’s was playing via CD’s.

We had three former members of the Bn from the 50’s in attendance with their wives. These guys were part of the Occupation Forces in Germany during the 50’s. They also brought some old Octofoil newspapers, photos ,etc.

William Read, MG, ret. and his wife Mary Ann also attended the reunion. Gen. Read took the Battalion to Vietnam in ’66. Several of the ladies took a shopping trip around Springfield, MO during the afternoon.

Friday evening we had a poolside cook out which was attended by 38. There were hotdogs, hamburgers with all the trimmings including a cake.

Saturday, after Breakfast we loaded up on a charter bus for the trip to Ft. Leonard Wood, 27 made the trip. We toured the Museum which is set up as a life size diorama exhibit. There are several exhibits for Engineers, Chemical Corps, Military Police and one other I can’t remember right now.(it is highly recommended), there are static displays of Huey’s, tanks, Rhone Plows and other equipment as well as some old barracks from the WWII/Vietnam Eras that are set up as museums.

Saturday evening we had our buffet and program which included words from Gen. Read and a slide presentation by former Lt. Houghton. We made some group photos. We also held the election at this time since most had planned to leave Sunday after Breakfast.  Ric Hutchinson (D) and Don Wills (E) were elected to the Board.

In general  the reunion was well attended and everyone indicated that they had a good time.

We should have the more photos up on the website shortly!
